The German firm Hercules is probably best known for its Wankel-powered motorcycles with the W2000 Rotary of 1974-77. However, its history dates back to 1904.

The company attained commercial success with their enduro machines of the early 1970s. Powered by Sachs 2-stroke engines, they shifted through 6 and 7-speed gearboxes. Beefy swingarms and highly efficient suspension gave advantage over the rough stuff. The company finally closed the doors in 1992.

The motorbike offered

The 7-speed Hercules 125cc GS on offer here is presented in excellent overall condition. Fully restored some years ago to full ISDT spec, including engine rebuild, Ceriani forks and Marzocchi shocks, with centerstand and quick-detach rear wheel. Unused since, the bike was bought by a prominent collector and placed on static display for past several years. As such, the bike will need re-commissioning before returning to off-road use.

Sold on a bill of sale with an original owners manual.
