The 2022 Triumph Bonneville Bobber enjoys a wide range of updates that include functional and aesthetic. The changes are, in part, to meet Euro 5 standards, as well as make the Bobber more appealing to a broader range of riders.

While meeting Euro 5 emissions standards, Triumph has worked to make the Bobber motor more exciting. The 76-horsepower peak at 6100 rpm and maximum torque of 78 ft-lbs at 4000 rpm doesn’t tell the entire story. The 1200 High Torque motor has less internal inertia for 2022, so the throttle response is enhanced. The power modes of Road and Rain return.

The 2022 Triumph Bobber has a new 16-inch front wheel—bye, bye, 19-incher. The tires are fat, fore-and-aft. The high-profile rubber helps the suspension suck up road irregularities and provide a large footprint on the pavement. To prevent the Bobber from becoming reluctant to turn, the rake is pulled in by 0.4 degrees.

Riders who like to put in some miles between visits to the gas station will appreciate the larger fuel tank. The new tank holds 3.2 gallons. With the improved fuel consumption rate of 61 mpg, you can squeeze almost 200 miles out of a tank filled with high test.

Black powdercoating is applied to the covers for the engine, cam, and sprocket. The matte look is a serious one.

The motorbike offered

The 2023 Triumph Bobber offered here was built by Glory Motorworks, a shop known best for building motorcycles for TV, film and advertising. The order came from a major movie production company for a modern bobber with a retro feel to feature in a blockbuster film. Brand new, zero mile bikes were sourced from Triumph and treated to the Glory hand of customization. A custom made “girder” front end with damping was fabricated by Voodoo Vintage, and left in bare metal for a lovely patina. In it hangs a 19″ spoke wheel with drum brake conversion and Firestone 4.00″ tire. The front axle configuration was made to fit a  Moto Guzzi front brake which was laced into a Excel rim w/polished SS spokes and nipples. The wheels lacing was done by Buchanan’s in Azusa CA. The handlebar and risers are from Biltwell and fitted with Magura levers. The fly-by-wire throttle was converted to a traditional cable pull assembly using a custom-made kit from BAAK. The switch housing was replaced with a simplified assembly for starting. The keyed ignition was relocated to the rear of the bike. The tank was relieved of its Triumph badges and painted in bottle green. The rear “soft tail” suspension unit was removed, and the rear end of the machine was made rigid with a meticulously designed structural strut. The rear wheel is an 18” Excell rim. Rear lighting was removed and a Bates-style headlight installed. Gauges were stripped away. Exhaust pipe extensions were installed.  The bike was serviced and made ready for its big screen debut. Then, unfortunately, the movie project was cancelled.

Now, available in fine running condition with minimal mileage, the bike will need a few further customizations for legal road use, including a rear light/brake light. Sold on a clean, clear title.
