When it comes to enduro motorcycles the KTM 450 XC-W is one of the most desirable models from the market. Powered by a 449cc, 1-cylinder 4-stroke, SOHC, water-cooled engine which is mated to a 6-speed gear box with DDS (Damped Diaphragm Steel) clutch. The 450 XC-W is one of the most powerful enduro machines of its class. Combining low weight and high displacement, high-tech SOHC 4-stroke technology is the right choice for all who are looking for maximum performance, combined with playful handling.
For 2014, KTM treated the model to a few upgrades. The new model year featured a fresh body work with redesigned shrouds, airbox cover, front fender, headlight fairing and headlight. More upgrades were made to the swingarm, suspensions and the airbox.
The modern and lightweight frame design made of high-strength chromoly steel sections combines maximum longitudinal stiffness with optimum torsional rigidity. It guarantees easy handling and precise cornering, but also outstanding stability. In 2014, the frame of the 4-stroke weighs even less thanks to thinner walled down tubes. In addition, the braces that connect the cylinder head were optimized. This means all new frames not only have a striking new color but also set the clear benchmark with respect to weight and stability.
The 2014 KTM 450cc XC-W on offer was purchased from the original, mature owner, who had covered 1,200 miles and personalized and modified the bike with an Acerbis desert tank, Scott steering damper, a supremely comfortable seat, rear tool pouch and a very effective headlight set up. The second owner further enhanced the bike with the upgraded suspension set up (for a 190lb person).
Having covered about 5,000 miles, the bike is in excellent condition. It seems to be a bike that has been meticulously cared for with minimal wear considering it is an off-road machine.
The bike is sold with tools, original tank, books and manuals and a clean, clear California title.
