Indian Motorcycles has come and gone from the limelight numerous times since the closure of the original company in 1953. But Polaris’ acquisition of the brand in 2011, gave it a whole new lease on life. With great market understanding, the parent company would design and produce a range of machines that fit with the 21st Century fan of the brand.
The Chief on offer here hails from an international collector. He kept a handful of bikes in the Los Angeles area for when he and select friends would fly in and enjoy trips up PCH or across the desert. Each bike was meticulously stored at a shop with in-house mechanic to keep them in top riding condition. His collection at home is beyond phenomenal and with hundreds of bikes through all eras over the last 130 years, from all corners of the motorcycle manufacturing world. As such, the Indian here, in luscious Vintage Indian Red with tan leather livery, is in fine riding condition. Showing 10,403 miles from new, the bike is fresh from a service to ready it for sale. It starts easily, idles smoothly, and has great power from the 111ci v-twin. The bike shifts smoothly through all six gears, brakes well and all electrical systems work as they should. It features rider back rest, all the leather bags offered by Indian with built in stereo system with USB connectivity in the handlebar bag.
Cosmetically, the bike is in excellent condition with minor wear, conducive with age and mileage.
