2009 Ducati 1198S Successor to the 1098, Ducati’s upgraded 1198 was part of the model line up from 2009 to 2011 and offered yet more power and torque. Essentially, a subtle enhancement in design to the predecessor, the bike featured a few dietary considerations to save weight, including the new 7-spoke GP replica Marchesini forged and wheels, headlights, frame and fairing on the ‘S’ model. Carried over from the World Superbike success, traction control to tame the 170bhp.
To keep the bike on the road, high performance, fully adjustable 43mm Öhlins forks, with low friction titanium nitride-treated fork sliders, are complemented by a fully adjustable Öhlins rear shock mounted to a single-sided swingarm for outstanding drive and traction.
The 1198S on offer here, comes from a small collection of interesting special edition motorcycles. The ex-racer/race mechanic owner has kept the bike in the very best of condition. Sparingly used, the bike shows only 4,200 miles from new and is dripping with carbon fiber enhancements and upgrades: front fender, hugger, open clutch cover and dash cover. A Bazzaz quick shift kit makes for a GP-riding experience with the aural symphony of HMF slipons. CRG adjustable levers add the final touch.
Cosmetically, the bike is presented in excellent condition throughout, with very little signs of wear. Paint is excellent, as are all panels and wheel finish. Regularly serviced the bike runs as well as it looks.
The 2009 Ducati 1198S is offered with all manuals, two keys and the Ducati Data Analyzer enabling the retrieval and analysis of data collected from your previous track session or road trip. It is sold on a clean, clear California title with current registration until August.
