Whizzer was introduced in 1939 by the Breene-Taylor Engineering Corporation, a Los Angeles manufacturer of aircraft parts, who began building engine kits for bicycles. The kit comprised of a 2½ horsepower motor, compression release and throttle and clutch controls to be attached to the handlebars.
After a hiatus of production of 30-odd years, Whizzer U.S.A. re-appeared in 1997 to sell an improved version, pre-assembled on an old Schwinn-style bicycle frame.
Having been on static display in the MotoTalbott Museum in Carmel, California for some time, the bike will need to be re-commissioned before returning it to extensive global touring duties.
