AC & 5-Speed maual, 1995 Honda Acty

1995 Honda Acty

The adorable kei-truck gets its name from the Japanese keitora, or light truck, designed to satisfy Japanese light vehicle restrictions. Produced from various manufacturers since 1959, the design was developed from 3-wheeled load-carrying motorcycles of the pre-War era to the 1500lb, 660cc pick-ups of today with a 700lb load capacity. And produced by the likes of Honda and Suzuki, they are proven to be typically reliable.

The cab-over design allows greater load capacity, while adhering to the length restrictions, while the 660cc engine is mid-mounted, like a Ferrari, Lamborghini or McLaren for better weight distribution. Obviously.

The Kei truck offered

The Honda Acty on offer here, of 1995 vintage, was recently imported from Japan. Showing a little over 64,000kms, (a little less than 40,000 miles) believed to be original, the truck is in very solid condition. Originally a white truck, it now adorns a striking gunmetal silver paint job. The interior is in good condition with excellent dash, but tears to the seats under the seat covers. Mechanically, the truck is in excellent condition, starting easily and with great pep from the 660cc engine. It shifts perfectly through the manual gearbox with good clutch action. Brakes, suspension and all electrical work perfectly! Having had several of these, this example is by far the quickest off the line and will motor along all day at freeway speeds with the 5-speed ‘box. And all with the comfort of nice cold AC.

Sold on a clean, clear Montana title.
