Ducati has been making great handling, lightweight, simple, air-cooled race-bikes-for-the-street for decades. Slotting into the middle of the model range is the Super Sport. Not an out-and-out racer, but a comfortable and pleasant street bike, and a very capable track weapon.
The second coming of the 900SS was introduced in 1990, with roots in the Formula II and Isle of Man ChampionshipTT2 road-racer, powered by a Pantah-based, air-cooled, 2-valve V-twin mounted in a trellis frame.
The bike offered here, was purchased new by our vendor, who used it as work transport, racking up 31,600 miles. Meticulously maintained, the bike is in fine mechanical condition, though the cosmetics of the engine show conducive wear. The rest of the cosmetics are surprisingly good, if not excellent. Tank, fairing and all bodywork look like that of a bike with a fraction of the mileage. The bike is accompanied by a clean, clear title and a full compliment of original tools, and the only departure from standard is the Staintune exhaust, which sounds fantastic!
Fresh from a thorough service, the bike is in turn-key condition, ready to offer a full Ducati experience.
