1990 Yamaha TDR250

Yamaha introduced the TDR250 the in 1988 as a street-legal middleweight dual-sport bike. Powered by the naturally-aspirated, crankcase reed-valve inducted, liquid-cooled 249cc parallel-twin two-stroke engine from the first generation TZR250, it featured the ‘YPVS’ Yamaha Power Valve System, CDI ignition and digital spark advance.

The TDR was designed to provide agile handling and quick acceleration both on and off the road, and power delivery was modified to suit its intended use. The special upswept expansion chambers, unique to the TDR, would aid ground clearance. Discontinued in 1993, the bike remains a favourite.

The bike offered has been part of a prominent Southwestern collection for several years and now shows 23,000 kms from new. In good all ‘round condition, this imported machine is to be sold with a clean, clear title. Set up as a Supermoto, the bike has been on static display for several years, the bike will need re-commissioning before returning to regular road use.
