1975 Carabela 125cc Motocross

Founded in 1964, Mexico’s Carabela, a subsidiary of Acermex, a bicycle company, built a range of motorcycle models that drew heavily from European brands (as well as engineers). Although the company had a period of success in its earlier years, financial problems eventually saw the company end motorcycle operations in 1987, with parts production lasting until 1990.

The motorbike offered

The 1975 Carabela 125cc Motocrosser on offer here was restored by Vintage Iron for the Mike Oberle Collection. It was then purchased for display in the MotoTalbott Museum in Carmel, California. Having been static for some time, the bike has been re-commissioned to ready it for sale, but further fettling may be necessary before returning it to regular offroad riding.
