1974 Yamaha TX500
Yamaha’s TX500 (XS500 in other markets) was steeped in features: twin overhead camshafts, four valves per cylinder, ‘Omni Phase’ balancer and electric starting all being part of a package that placed the model at the head of the 500-class pack. ‘Compact, versatile, yet distinctly sporting’ according to Bike magazine, the XS/TX was good for a top speed approaching 110mph.
The motorbike offered
The 1974 Yamaha TX500 offered here has been consigned by a vendor with a handful of motorcycles in the stable. In good running condition, the bike has been well maintained by him. Complete with nose fairing, the bike was subject of a repaint some years ago in the vibrant blue you see it in here. Paint finish on the resealed tank is fair with orange-peel, while the rest of bike is presented in very good overall condition.
