1973 Ford Bronco Custom

1973 Ford Bronco Custom

The Ford Bronco, introduced in 1966, changed little over succeeding years, a testament to its excellent design and popularity. Tough, practical, and simple, the small, rugged, four-wheel-drive vehicle served a particular purpose and did so exceedingly well. The Bronco’s reputation took off quickly and it soon became one of Jeep’s biggest competitors. A precursor to today’s immensely popular sport utility vehicles, the Bronco developed a loyal following, allowing it to remain in production up until the 1977 model year. With classic styling, easy access to parts, off-road versatility, and a rugged reputation, these early Broncos are treasured by enthusiasts and collectors more than ever. But half a century later, the enthusiast is looking for something a little more modern, comfortable, fast and capable.

The motorcar offered

The Bronco on offer here, of ’73 vintage, has been the subject of just such modernizations. Starting with a solid, rust-free car, it was stripped, refinished and repainted in white with black accents. The original engine was replaced with a tried-and-true Ford 351ci Windsor unit mated to a C4 transmission. It has upgraded and rebuilt power steering and 4-wheel drive with airlockers and a Dana 44 differential. Suspension was upgraded to twin shocks and the car runs on chunky Goodyear Wrangler tires. It also benefited from a new windshield, battery, rear mounted spare wheel, etc.

The interior was refinished with new floor covering, refinished seats and panels and an upgraded Kenwood audio system with bluetooth connectivity.

The car comes with a full roll-cage, hard top and a brand new soft top, still in its shipping box. Also, a winch for mounting to the front bumper will keep you out of trouble, or help those who are.

In excellent tune, the truck runs perfectly with good power, smooth gearbox and a comfortable ride.
