1970 Jawa Ice-Speedway Racer

If the excitement of Speedway racing is not enough, with their impossible angles and drifting evoking a controlled chaos spectacle, then doing the whole thing on ice has to be for you. At a glance, the bikes look similar, but the ice requires a longer wheelbase and 1.5-inch racing spikes, 90 spikes on the front tire and 200-500 on the rear. In the middle is a dry-sump, alcohol-burning JAWA racing engine that produces an astonishing 60bhp propelling these amazing riders to 80mph. On ice!

The motorbike offered

Robb Talbott looked for a long time to find the right ice racer, finding the bike offered in England, importing it in its “as raced” condition. Having been on static display in the MotoTalbott Museum in Carmel, California for some time, the bike has been re-commissioned to ready it for sale, but further fettling may be necessary before returning it to regular ice racing use.
