If you take a BSA B25 Starfire and replace the badge, “presto” a Triumph TR25W appears before your very eyes. There were, in fact, a few more cosmetic differences than just a bit of badge-engineering, and mechanically, the Triumph sports different gear ratios, wheels and exhaust, better suited to trails riding. Production for both iterations ran in to 1970 when it was replaced by the oil-in-frame model.
The motorcycle offered here, was part of the famed Mike Taggart collection. A matching-numbers example, the bike was obviously well-restored some years ago, by George Omo of Oxnard, California. Now, showing some blemishes from long-term storage (see front fender photo), the bike is offered in excellent “rider” condition.
The engine has good compression, but the bike has been on static display for several years. As such, it will require the usual re-commissioning and safety checks.
