Description
1966 Velocette 500cc Venom Scrambler
Velocette introduced their MSS-engine Scrambler in the late 1950s. While arguably faster-on-the-straight than a B34 Gold Star it didn’t quite match BSA in the handling department, despite that the Velo was equipped with a highly innovative adjustable rear suspension system. In the US, the new scrambler racked up innumerable wins, where tracks tended to favor faster engines.
The motorbike offered
The Velocette Venom Scrambler on offer here comes from a Southern California collector looking to thin the herd. Confirmed by the Velocette Scrambler registrar, this matching numbers example of the 254 Scramblers built is one of the last to leave the factory. In very good, original condition, the bike was just recommissioned in our shop to ready it for sale, and proven to run well, which can be seen in the video below.
