Description

Originally conceived for the 1963 model year, by west coast distributor Bill Johnson of Johnson Motors, the TT was a high performance, factory race bike, stripped down and performance tuned to fill the niche markets of off-road racing.

The bike offered is a tribute to that definitive desert sled. At its heart is a T140V, 750cc twin with 5-speed gearbox, liberated from a bike built in December 1977. Fully rebuilt from the sludge traps up, the engine was installed in a restored mid to late 1960s frame. That frame was stamped with the matching number to the engine. Then the rest of the bike was built up to mimic the ’66 TT Special look with small tank, adorned with a beautiful paint finish, aluminum fenders, correct gauges, seat, grips, etc. Missing are the fold-up footpegs. For street use, a head and tail light were installed.

As part of a prominent collection in Beverly Hills, the bike has been used sparingly until placed static display. As such, it will need the usual minimal re-commissioning before returning to the road.

The bike is offered on a California Certificate of Title.
