1965 Matchless G80S

Associated Motor Cycles announced its post-war range of AJS and Matchless heavyweight singles immediately after the cessation of WWII. Robust OHV singles mated to 4-speed ‘boxes were mounted in rigid frames with Teledraulic front fork. By 1949 a swing-arm frame was introduced and dubbed the ‘S’. Development continued on through the 1950s and in to the ‘60s until the 1964 model, which featured Norton hubs/brakes and Roadholder forks together with short-stroke engines based on the scrambles unit.

The motorcycle offered

The ’65 model offered here is a nicely presented older restoration, which is holding up exceptionally well. From a prominent Southern California collection, the bike shows 6,000 miles on the odometer, probably since restoration. Paint finish is very good as are the rest of the surfaces. Mechanically, the bike is in fine fettle, fresh from a service to ready it for sale.
