1959 Ducati 85cc Sport
There is no argument that Fabio Taglioni’s bevel-drive singles were the epitome of motorcycle design style, but predecessors, including the 85cc Sport are certainly no slouch. The sporting stance, with low bars and the instantly recognizable Jelly Mold fuel tank, the 85 Sport is a shadow of the factory racers and the stuff of teenager’s dreams of the 1950s.
The motorbike offered
The 1959 Ducati 85cc Sport on offer here has been on static display in a discerning Southwestern collection of cars and motorcycles. Purchased as viewed here from the famed Silverman Collection of Colorado, the bike is offered in very good condition throughout, obviously the subject of a comprehensive restoration some years ago. Some attention to the wiring is all that is needed for the staggering beautiful, diminutive café racer to return to its former glory.
