MAS, or Motocicli Alberico Seiling, was named after its Bavarian-born but Italian by adoption, founder. Seiling began in 1920, as many did, as a manufacturer of a 125cc engine of German design mounted on a bicycle frame. Well received, it was eventually joined in 1925 by more recognizeable motorcycle designs of 150 and 175cc models and then a twin cylinder 500. Manufacture continued in to the late 1950s.
Having been on static display in the MotoTalbott Museum in Carmel, California for some time, the bike has been re-commissioned to ready it for sale, but further fettling may be necessary before returning it to regular Giro d’Italia racing prowess.
