Description

After the invention and brisk increase in the interest of bicycling, many manufacturers would combine the concept with another new innovation, the internal combustion engine. Edouardo Bianchi was producing bicycles for over a decade when his first motorized bicycle came to market in 1897. Bianchi became a formidable racing name in the pre-war years, in the hands of the likes of Tazio Nuvolari and Terzo Bandini.

Immediately following World War II, engineering and manufacturers shifted focus to getting Italians moving again, with cheap, economical, and reliable machines on two and four wheels. Alongside Fiat, Vespa, and numerous others, Bianchi produced a range of motorcycles for just the job.

The 1955 Bianchi on offer here, is a rare 2-stroke of 125cc capacity. From a substantial Southern California collection, nicely presented, the bike has been recently mechanically overhauled with correct NOS 40-spoke rims, which are very hard to obtain, new exhaust, battery, carb clean, check through the spark system and all cycle parts. The result is a great running bike, that’s a blast to ride.

Sold on a clean, clear California title.
