1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Project

1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan Project

Immediately following World War II, Cadillac still had its own identity and all the technical specifications that entailed. They were still deemed to be the very best cars in the American market, with their propriety overhead-valve silky-smooth engines. Only 160bhp was on tap, but the power was steeped in torque and mated to the Hydra-matic automatic transmission, they were effortless cruisers, comparable to the continental grand tourers from Europe.

The motorcar offered

Found languishing in a field in Mexico, this 1949 Cadillac Series 62 Sedan needed near nothing to get it running to return to the US under its own power. The engine was tuned and serviced and the gas tank was flushed. The interior had seen better days, so was treated to a nice restoration to seats, carpets, headliner and all panels. The original paint was sympathetically preserved and polished and buffed to show the 75 years of patina at its best. The original chrome was polished, and new tires were installed on the original wheels, repainted to match the exterior of the car with original wheel trims, Cadillac log emblazoned.

Now, with a little further tinkering, the car is ready for a rustoration, restoration, resto-mod or continental cruiser.
