1939 Norton 490cc Model 30 International
The International was Norton’s range-topper, introduced in 1932, as the road-going version of the Isle of Man Senior TT-winning racer. The overhead camshaft single had gone through a major redesign in the hands of Arthur Carroll and after a false start, eventually became a successful steed for the privateer racer.
The motorbike offered
The 1939 Norton 490cc Model 30 International on offer here was ground-up restored by Paul Adams and remained in his Norton collection until purchased by our vendor. Paul was a credited restorer with a fine collection of Manx and Norton Inters. Although restored approximately 30 years ago, it has attained awards as Best Pre-War, Best Norton, and Best Production at the Clubman’s Show, a Best in Class at the Legends of the Motorcycle concours and shown at the 2022 Quail Motorsports Gathering.
