2002 Harley-Davidson VRSC V-ROD Custom
Frame no. 1HD1HAZ362K801571
2001 marked a departure from tradition for Harley-Davidson the likes of which hadn’t been seen since they added a second gear. In conjunction with Porsche Engineering, they developed a 60-degree, double overhead cam engine that was water-cooled!
A very capable 1100cc motor with 115bhp was hung in a street cruiser chassis for both straight line burnouts and a comfortable cruise. Brushed aluminum bodywork, low slung seat and modern headlight arrangement created a very distinctive look of factory custom. The engine was smooth, and the low riding position took advantage of the all-new perimeter frame for a stable ride.
The bike offered here, from the second year of manufacture, has covered a mere 4,300 miles from new. In long-time storage as part of a small collection, the bike has recently enjoyed a full re-commissioning. Fresh from service, the bike now runs exceptionally well, with easy starting, good power and with handling and stopping. Customized with purple wheels, and Corbin Ostrich purple-flamed seat and custom mirrors, the bike exudes an individual look. The purple Harley-Davidson tank logo is the cherry on the cake.
The condition of the bike is excellent throughout, with the only detraction being the very normal-for-Harley pitting on the front forks (pictured).
The bike features a full screen with a quick-release mechanism to switch the bike from mile-crunching cruiser to a more sporty, naked look. The accessory chrome-adorned hard-shell bags feature a strut to conveniently hold them open.
