1983 Triumph T140 750cc TSS
Frame No. SCGB7550 OCM 032208
Engine No. T140W OCM 032208
The ultimate production of the Bonneville came in the 1982-1983 TSS – some say ultimate in time as well as specification. Weslake Engineering produced an eight-valve top-end for the 750cc twin, boosting power, and an electric starter satisfied the latest consumer demands. A sporting design with a four-gallon fuel tank and low-rise handlebars gave a café-racer stance, while optional Morris alloy wheels and dual Lockheed front brakes, Marzocchi shocks and a strengthened swingarm added to the modernity and capability of the machine. Because of Weslake’s limited production capability, less than 450 TSS models were built with only 112 exported, primarily to the U.S.
The TSS offered here is offered as part of a substantial Southwestern collection. Purchased from the original owner, it remains in excellent original condition throughout, and shows only 6.873 miles from new, still in perfectly unmolested, stock condition. On static display for several years, the bike will need re-commissioning before returning to regular road use.
This is the last of the great era of Meridan-built Triumphs before the factory closed and is pretty much guaranteed to be a future collectible. Offered with a clean, clear title.
